DRAGON BREATH (5-minute Freewrite)

He ran forward with the sword high above his head. His barbaric yawlp echoed through the dark cave. The only indication the dragon was actually present was the steaming stench which poured out of the cracked rock face. It was horrible. The witch had provided him a simple packet of cloves and herbs which swung at his neck. And it wasn't helping.

In moments he reached the back of the cave. His eyes adjusted to the darkness. As the shadows gave up their secrets, he realized the dragon was not here. The knight was certain he had been tricked. Perhaps the witch was at the root of the foul deaths across the kingdom, and there was no dragon at all.

There was only one way to be certain. The sword entered the sheath with a grating metal sound which gave him courage every time.

The knight stepped through the hole at the front of the cave into the bright light of morning.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

Timothy woke to the sound of the alarm. The heavy, noxious breath of his lover billowed across the pillow.
