PIG'S EAR (5-minute Freewrite)

If you'll permit me, I am going to challenge myself to stay in the same story for all the 5-minute Freewrite Prompts for the month of February! Let's see how this turns out...

"You always could make a silk purse out of a pig's ear," said Aunt Meredith.

"Honestly, Felix. What good do you think you could do on a ship? A cruise ship!" Pride glistened in his Mother's eyes, while at the same time color drained from her face. This was the first real initiative Felix had ever shown. But her little boy was serious about going to the other side of the world. On a boat. Alone!

"Sow," Felix said. He tone as flat as the expression on his face. He saw all the signs of another rejection - dead ahead. Nothing new here. If he had the start of a great idea, his Mother and Aunt Meredith would find a way to shut it down.

"What did you call me, boy?" Aunt Meredith's face flushed pink, then deepened to a dark red of anger. "Never in my life..."
