PINEAPPLE (5-minute Freewrite)

If you'll permit me, I am going to challenge myself to stay in the same story for all the 5-minute Freewrite Prompts for the month of February! Let's see how this turns out...

There was honest to goodness pineapple chunks in her pina colada. Oh, this trip was to die for! Ilana was thrilled with her decision to purchase the ticket. Thrilled with her decision to come alone. And thrilled with her decision to leave Breck.

Then why were her eyes filled with tears again? Oh, that's right. The first drink Breck had sent her was a pina colada. She giggled like a school girl when he put the paper umbrella behind her ear. What a fool she'd been. What a fool she was.

No! She wouldn't let Breck ruin this cruise. She promised herself smooth, white sand beaches. And smooth, white sand beaches was what she would have. As far as Ilana was concerned...

"Breck Costairs, please report to the muster station on the main deck. Breck Costairs," a voice droned over the ship intercom.

Ilana sat bolt upright. Breck wasn't on this cruise. He refused to come. She had his ticket. There must be a mistake. She rejected the notion of him crashing this, her special cruise. And she would not permit his name to be blasted over the loud speaker.

But if they called him to muster, then he had checked in and boarded the ship. Ilana stood with her drink in hand. She left her room and headed straight to the muster station.
