Day 348, Five Minutes Freewrite: A Past In The Closet
Alone in the weather-beaten, lonely cottage at the edge of the woods, Mia sat by a window. Just as if she struck a pose for an artist, the teenager was engrossed in thoughts. She had lived with her aunt, Moren, all her life. Without visitors or neighbors, Mia only interacts with people at the market.
She stood up with a start and rushed into Moren’s room. It just occurred to her that the answers to questions may be there. She was about leaving the room disappointed after a careful and thorough search when she slipped on the vinyl tiles.
To prevent a fall, Mia placed her palm on the wall and her fingers pressed a switch. Immediately, the wall slid open. Amazed, she cautiously went into the secret room. What awaits her will forever transform her life.

well, cottage in the woods, I'd expect a dirt floor, a wood floor, maybe a stone floor, but not vinyl. :)
