Greetings fellow Steemians! Here is my 55th 5 minute freewrite. (Disclaimer: these usually take me more than 5 minutes to write). The prompt is "parasol". Many thanks to @mariannewest for hosting this daily freewrite!

Paradigm Shift
Holding the tiny paper umbrella
Up like a parasol
I step over the edge
Wind whistles in my ears
Sweeter than silence
The world a sunlit ocean
There's something relaxing
About a decision
You have no way of taking back

The parasol collapses
The pavement approaches much too fast
Remember the way
Honeybees fly?
That's how you live forever

STOPLove it - your slight absurdist tint shining through as always :) Those closing words remind of the classic Douglas Adams line: "The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't". Darkly humorous, but underneath it real poetic feeling.
