"The end!" Tumnus cried out, arms extending wide over the stage.

The tiny applause from the middle row, center of the was enough to make any grown man cry.

"Again Daddy! Oh please Daddy, again!"

"Who's there?" He squinted into the bright stage lights.

"It's me, Daddy, Gabriella!" she said, giggling and rising to her feet. She held down the folding chair, and climbed up so she could be seen better. "Can you see me now?"

"Are you a beautiful young lady, with golden ringlets for hair, wearing a dress fit for angels?"

"Oh Daddy, these old rags?" she looked down and pulled at her faded blue dress with ripped stitches.

"Old rags?" he bellowed into the empty seats. "Not in my theater! I see only pearls and tiaras! Now miss, you if you wouldn't mind joining me on the stage for the final curtain call, I would be honored."

Gabriella hopped down and skipped to the edge of the stage. She climbed the small set of stairs, and took a very careful step up, the bright lights shining down on her, warming her pale skin and causing her squint. She drapped an arm across her face to shield her eyes.

"Come on now! Don't be shy, the audience is waiting!"

She walked slowly to her father's extended hand, and he scooped it up raising it high above her head.

"One! Two! Three!" he whispered and they bowed. "One! Two! Three!" he whispered again, and her head swooped down to her knees.

"Daddy?" she said looking up at this face, his blue eyes sparkling in the lights.

"Yes, my darling," he said raising her up to sit on his hip.

"One day, you'll be the best play writer and director this country has ever seen!"

"Yes, my darling," he said. "And you will be my star!"
