Cookie Cutter | 5-minute Daily Freewrite by @mariannewest

in #freewrite5 years ago (edited)

It was a boring Sunday because outside was raining heavily with thunderstorm, so the children were not allowed to go out. Unfortunately, at the same time, mummy was not feeling well, with high fever and a weak body. With no choice left, we had to have aunty Anne over to hang around with the children for awhile.

Aunty Anne was nearly perfect except she has slight Aspergers. But she was always able to mingle well with kids as though she was one of them in terms of age. Or maybe she was just very professional with kids.

From blocks to puzzles to cars to robots they played. Then, suddenly Aunty decided to have a playdough competition with the children. Out of the blue she said, "We are going to make cookie from Playdough and who makes the cookie which looks the most most super real win the contest."

Off they children went to the table, laid out all the Playdough cans, and started rolling and 'baking' their cookie. Aunty Anne suggested this contest because she knew she was really good at this and that she was going to win. The kids were having all the Playdough cutter so she figured she would use mum's cookie cutter from the kitchen, making the cookie looked even more real than the real.

After forming all their cookies, they left them there to dry first. Aunty put hers in kitchen so that the children would not accidentally messed up hers. Three hours later, they returned to the table to check their Playdough. The children were busy comparing one another's cookies, whose nicer, whose had more chocolate chips, so much cookie conversation going that it made Aunty real hungry.

Without a second thought, Aunty went to the kitchen, saw the cookie and thought "Wow, what a yummy cookies here. I better eat it before the children finish the cookie."

She took one bite from one of the cookies and noticed it tasted weird.

"Children, who made this cookie earlier, it tasted off."

"It was you, Aunty, we saw you hid the cookie in the kitchen as well," one of them exclaimed.

The other child said, "You sure win, Aunty. Your cookie looks so real."
