Yesterday, I was helping my 8-year-old with his Chinese homework asking about 家,是什么?

His teacher wanted to teach them to write simple essay with this topic "Home, what is it to you?"

And he took so long to think I was tapping my fingers on the table singing some tune in my brain. *yawn, lol. * But yes, he is a thinker since young.

Then, to my surprise he told me that home is a like a light to him. I was assuming that he would say something like home is where I can find my toys, room to sleep, bathe and eat.

He continued to add on that when he comes back home, he felt different, like something fresh inside coming out of him. Okay, I assumed he meant to say he was enlightened.

So, guess what, I am a proud momma, giggling inside. At least, I know I keep the home safe for him.

To me, home, is a beacon of love, which without, it is difficult to nurture and help the children and spouse to grow in wholesomeness. Imagine if the people at home always quarrel and curse at each other, it would be a place of chaos, once step in, you step into turmoil.

As a homemaker, it is my duty and responsibility to ensure this beacon of love stays put to its job, to continue to radiates sunshine, so that when my spouse is back from work and my children are at home, they feel the sunshine, the energy, the life.

I am honored to take up this task as a homemaker although it ain't an easy task, but hey, I am building future generation which will slay the lion and lead the nation. What a big dream.
