Fan.

A fine day to talk about fans. It's warm today, but those aren't the fans I'll talk about.

I'll talk about what I'm a fan of when it comes to other actors.

It turns out, there are a lot of people who think they know best when it comes to how someone should be an actor. Lots of them are right. Even when they disagree, because there are lots of useful methods in the world and many of them work.

Some people will swear by Meisner Technique, which helps train you to react to what you observe. Others think it's a bunch of hoo-ha.

Some people swear that in order to be a "real" actor, you have to lose yourself entirely in the role. Others think that way lies excuses for acting like a jerk and/or real psychological damage.

There are then a hundred thousand ways you can try to get noticed, which has very little to do with the art or craft of acting (no matter to me which you call it, but some folks have strong opinions), but has a lot to do with whether you get hired. I definitely can't speak to the effectiveness of that, since I certainly haven't cracjed the code, but I will forewarn you that there are scam artists out there, and don't give someone your money because they promise they have THE ANSWER.

But there are only two things that I think are objectively true that you need to do to be a good actor.

I'm not going to hide these tips behind a paywall, because I think everybody deserves to know them. If you think these are valuable tips, please consider upvoting or donating. If you disagree (though, why would you?) then carry on your way and shake your head once again at the ridiculous man behind the silly advice.

Here goes.

The two tips.

Not even tips. The two ESSENTIALS. If you don't have these, I hope you don't work. Oof. That's harsh. If these are impossible for you for whatever reason, I am sorry. Maybe don't take me so seriously. And I know they aren't really essential, because there are lots of successful actors out there who don't do them.

But I wish folks would think of them as more essential than they do.

You ready?

Whoops.

There's the timer.

There goes the tips because of the timer... Haha.

I know you have done the next prompt so I won't deliver it here. Just say hello to you and upvote. 😊
