Not a clean planet -5minutefreewrite(x3)

Gene's father had said something to Gene that had wounded his pride.

He talked about Gene's unnecessarily long shower times. Gene had always prided himself on his environmentalism. One of the reasons, in fact, that he enjoyed such long showers, was that he imagine the spray as a rain washing away the urban grime. But, of course, it wasn't Gene's father had caught Gene in an embarassing truth, and now Gene couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't as environmentally friendly as he had thought.

He thought about all the plastic straws he used. That was the thing of the week, people buying metal straws online so that they wouldn't hurt the world with their plastic straws anymore... of course there are manufacturing costs that harm the world with metal straws, too....

But the point is, he doesn't need a straw. In fact, he should stop buying things altogether. So much waste on this planet. Buying things is just convenience.

Gene decided, inspired by his father's relatively off-handed comment about long showers, that he was going to be as absolutely individually good about environmentalism as he could, and really take a good long look at his habits.

The first thing h

And this shows how many lovers, and this determines how happy...
And this is a rating that takes those prior two statistics and correlates them with how sustainably they live. You can see on the graph,

Gene pointed to the powerpoint engineer, who abruptly shut off the projector

That we don't need graphs and charts... or, rather, we do, but we can picture them in our minds' eyes, thus saving electricity and/or paper.

Gene went on, trying to convince the matchmaking app community of OkCUPID, Christian Mingle, Plenty of Fish, and Bumble, that, no matter what they were doing before, they had a social obligation to encourage sustainability, because the Earth was snowballing into disaster. Which is a phrase he used ironically, since there would be no such thing as a snowball in the hellfire that would consume...

He tried not to let that passion leak out. He had found that normie found it off-putting. And of course, there would be plenty of snow in the FREEZING STORMS that would occasionally pop up in this
It's a matter of survival

Here he was, still trying to convince these huddle masses who were swimming in filth for goodness sake, and pretending it was the same normal swimming pool they had installed 20 years earlier.

He'd been trying to get humanity to change its ways for 20 years, and in that time, the level of greenhouse gases hadn't change so much, but the gradual buildup over time had started to make ancient ice sublimate. Raining down into these Los Angeles pools were the glacial waters that weren't clean, oh no, that had picked up the ashes of the thousands of out of control wildfires the burned constantly.

If they couldn't see now, as they swam in ashen waters, that this was a matter of survival. That we had passed the point of no return, and now all there was to do was stop using any greenhouse gas making energy sources, hunker down in bunkers, and hope that our children's childrens' chidren;s children's children's grandchildren's great great great great great grandchildren's grandchildren's great great great grandchidren would be able to once again step outside. If humanity survived to that point.

But they didn't care. They wanted to drink their

I'm not too worried about you either ;p

Raining deer babies with spider! Gene has a problem communicating with normies, I think we could all get better at that.

I found some nice fellow working out the dust votes implications on the next hard fork. its 1.2sp (x100vp).

Cheers Washingtonian!

Ah, thanks. And everyone will still start with 15 delegated sp?

But also, how about that "it won't count against VP" or will it?

They are doing some changing, there will not be the small amount of steem to start (it will be burnt) but I'm not sure about the delegation. So much to learn still!

It will be burnt?

Yeah, so it will be removed from circulation. Apparently it will still count for bandwidth purposes, but it will 'disappear'. This should have a very strong effect on price over time, if the cost stays at .1 steem, the next million accounts opened will effectively eliminate 100,000 steem from existence.

Are you suggesting that the option to delegate steem as an alternate cost will be removed?

No no, but even with delegation there is always a 0.1 steem minimum. That will be burned now. Incidentally, that has come down over time, and might do the same in the future.

I think its 3 steem or .1 plus delagation. Something like that. Also, burned/burnt. Whatevs!

Huh. I didn't realize. Well, thanks to the team for doing that!
