and wasn't impressed with the cold room. He had expected more than just a reclining chair in the middle. She pointed to it gracefully with a sweet smile.

"Would you like a drink before you start or would you rather have that drink on your way."

"Yeah, on my way, why not?" After all, he might as well make the most of it. He has to justify the time and effort.

He walked over to the chair and sat down, sighing before laying back, ready to take that plunge. How quickly times had changed. When he was a kid, you had to physically go some place. Actually get into a car or a plane or even just walk. But now, all you needed was this cold room, headphones and the magic pill to take you anywhere you wanted to go.

And you'd think it'd be cheaper and faster than back in the day with all this technology. But it took him 3 years, 5 months, 2 weeks and 3 days from the point he decided he was going to do it.

"What drink would you like Mr. Dean?"

"Surprise me."

That kind of sent every plan into a little scurry just as the spider had. Without that spider incident, he would have been done with this and maybe saving for his next holiday.

They had assured him that they were going to look into it immediately. It had never happened before. they promised. They were as shocked as he was. They were going to get to the bottom of this as they took the hygiene very seriously, they rambled.

He honestly didn't care. It was just a spider for crying out loud. The shriek worried him more. It was like she had never seen a spider before. He tried to proceed, but they wouldn't let him. He had to rearrange everything and almost opted out but it wasn't an option withou losing some... a lot of money.

Besides had waited too long for this holiday, saved too hard. To top it, they promised him some extras. How do you say no to some free extras?

"The spider has been cleared right? No creepy crawlies that's going to freak you out right?. But then again, maybe you are not afraid of spiders like your friend."

"Yes Mr. Dean. All taken care of."

Ah, not small talk... at least not of the spider. There was that sweet smile again. Probably trained for it. No matter what the customer said, you always smile. She was like a Stepford Customer Service person. The thought of the movie Stepford Wives made him want to laugh.

Movies!! NOthing like they used to be anymore. Today, you were right in the movie. You chose your character and you lived, laughed and cried for real. You try not to die, because it confuses the brains. Funnily enough people still went to the movies. The originals were expensive, but there were cheaper, illegal alternatives. Just like the good ol days.

"All comfortable Mr. Dean?" He nodded.

As she took a step closer, she lost balance, her shoe hit the chair and

. He immediately sat up.

"Are you ok?'

She nodded, trying to keep the smile on. But he could see the fear clouding her perfect little face. He wondered what had happened the last time with the spider incident. He hadn't given it much thought as he was caught shuffling his plans.

She adjusted her clothes and bent down to pick up the heel. She made it look like it was the most natural thing in the world. Even if she had seen him trying to hold his laughter, she held her composure. He just found the whole thing hilarious.

She made it worse by limping gracefully over to the door, unsure what to do with the heel. The laughter that was rising in his throat was more than from amusement, it was also from nerves.

"You know, I am really having second thoughts about this trip. First the spider, now your heel.... I don't know"

She turned around, smile still plastered but her eyes widening.

"I ... The.... But.... But..."

"Yeah, he nodded. My sentiments exactly.
