He sure has been crying a lot lately.

Good thing my patience levels have been relatively high. Ive been able to give lots of hugs and cuddles where I usually would do screams and yells.

This is a sensitive one.

Yelling makes him cry more.

So today, I offered love and cuddles and extra back rubs. I practically begged: "What do you want to do today?

"Build Giant Puzzles" He responds in his baby voice.

He's not really a baby but I let myself get into the energy of him being my baby. I accept that he is having a bad day, I cuddle, I hug, I kiss, I promise to build puzzles. You have to get in the energy, faking that he is your baby is sensed and he will cry. More.

So my baby he is. I put him on my lap and rock him and cuddle him.

And I have lots of patience. Because he goes to sleep and we all sigh in relief. But then he wakes.

And his screams irritate again. I promise Trader Joe's and Mini Cones and it kind of works, but he needs more hugs. And I don't have any more patience to fake it.

So now its time to go and coddle him some more. He's crying but I will not release those mini cones. Sugar must be limited until these cries go away. Exercise, wholesome food, sleep. I will keep trying.

Maybe that's why I chose a 5 minute writing task today.

This was my entry for @mariannewest's freewrite prompt: puzzle. This is NOT my crying boy - this crying boy is from a Canva stock image. My crying boy is currently laying on the floor making paper butterflies, kicking around, singing and talking to himself. He is pretending to be Catboy and Catboy doesn't cry. But Catboy does eat Trader Joe's Chocolate Mini Cones.
