Rebel Without A Prompt (Glucose Test Freewrite Story)

Sunday Prompt: I don't know. I haven't seen tonight's post from @mariannewest yet.

One day, the writer decided that he had a convenient time to do his freewrite story. However, he had no Internet access which means he did not know the prompt. Therefore, he decided to write a story and just hope that the prompt can fit in somehow.

He was waiting, with his wife, at the doctor's surgery. His wife was having a glucose test, which meant they had to wait for an hour.

“Paying is overrated,” I said. “It costs too much money.”

“Yes, very true,” replied my wife, Sheryl. “Do we have to pay?”

“Yes, I would love to think of a way around it. Unfortunately, we need to pay these things.”

“What about the electricity?” asked Sheryl.

“Yes, we need to pay that too,” I said. “It is most unfortunate.”

Sheryl decided that she would look at the fish. She will be taking our first born son, Robbie.

The tank had seven fish. They all swam around peacefully. No fighting, no stress. I can't guarantee that they are not bored, but they don't have any bills to pay.

Gazing at the fish tank brings its own sense of peace.

Peace is what is needed. I have all the symptoms of a sympathy pregnancy. That is when the husband thinks he experiencing what it is like to be pregnant. Like he is having some mysterious connection with his wife. In reality, he is eating too much junk food and is getting fat. Time for exercise.

I hope you enjoyed it the story but it needs a conclusion. Blood tests qualify for eating supper outside. We did that but got home later than usual. However, we will always read to our boy before he goes to sleep. Sheryl insists on his favourite book.
