To love or not to love ...

What is it to love anyway?
Putting someone else's needs before your own?
Allowing others to cross your boundaries?
Not speaking one's truth if it might bring up pain in another?

Comforting ourselves in our own arms?

To heal or not to heal ...

Is healing physical?
Emotional?
Mental?
Spiritual?
Are any of these more important than the other?

To judge or not to judge ...

Can we judge another without judging an aspect of ourselves?
Or, on the other hand,
when are we judging
and when are we being discerning?

To feel or not to feel ...

Is there any benefit to feeling our pain
or is it better to avoid it
stuff it away and
ignore it?

    This is why I love the free write.
    Every brain, heart, soul takes a prompt in a unique direction. Whether it feels like a choice or guided by instinctive influences, by a piece of their intrinsic self or an extrinsic contributor from their life. Even the most random or impulsive write can reveal something unexpected and beautiful.
    I will nominate this piece for the poetry free write post.
