Day 350: Five Minute Freewrite: Friday - Prompt: FREEDOM!!! By Eagle Spirit

Freedom came in the way she never expected, he had beaten her enough and she was ready to finally stand up and defend herself. After he dragged her across the floor, she barely felt the open flesh on her knees and elbows, but somehow managed to push herself up off the floor and take a warrior's stance.

Looking him straight in the eye she told him, "you better make this good because this is the last time you put your hands on me."

The coward dared to look back with fear, disgust, and something akin to respect.

She put her fists up and punched him in the face, blood gushed everywhere and she realized this was not the person or the soul she was meant to be. From that moment on, she knew she had to get out of the relationship once and for all.

Dialing 9-1-1 was her only chance for freedom, he grabbed for her but she ran to her bedroom and locked the door. The cell phone was there and she called the cops, he was trying to break the door down when the cops came in with guns at the ready.

He ran out the back door and the cops took guided her to the backseat of a detective's vehicle, it was one of the most humiliating times in her life. After being placed ...
