Day 506: 5 Minute Freewrite: Sunday - Prompt: meditate
How to heal a very badly injured knee
First, and this is akin to losing a steem password, stay off of it. If it's opening night of a play where you have the lead, drop out.
Second, ask for help
Third, get a cane. Every step you take for the next several days must be with a cane. Learn how to use it properly. Everyone does it wrong at first. Look it up.
Fourth: Ice, comfrey, arnica, helichrysum and these by using whatever method floats your boat.
Fifth: Go to the chiropractor.
I started this story because I wanted to write about Franca, the closest thing I have to a PCP, who has the hands of a healer and the heart of a kind old soul and when I am in any kind of pain, it's off to Franca I go.
On her table, I easily do something that comes with great effort any where else: I meditate. I don't tell myself to do it, I don't know I am doing it, but there I am and the only thing I know is my breath. Sometimes I drift off to sleep and wake looking at her phony skylight (I never understood those things but she loves it) and aware of her hands. Mostly by then they are no longer touching me, we are done, and my self has had a profound shift.
I don't know how I would live without her.
