Last week was apparently a little too easy. But that's ok, it was just the warmup. This week is going to be different.

Congratulations to @twodorks for finding the secret ingredient first and to @evlachsblog for cooking it!!!

And now, without further ado, the RECIPE:

#Asian beef pan

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces spring onion
  • 200 g bush beans
  • 1 piece Red pepper
  • 1 piece clove of garlic
  • 150 g jasmine rice
  • 10 g sesame
  • 280 g beef club stripes
  • 20 ml secret ingredient
  • 8 g food starch

Preparation:

  1. Rinse jasmine rice in a colander with cold water.
Fill a large pot with 300 ml of hot water, salt, bring to the boil and stir in the rice.
Cook with lid on for about 10 minutes at low heat.
Then remove from the heat and let it swell for about 10 minutes.

  2. Separate white and green parts of spring onions separately into thin rings.
Cut off the ends of the beans, then cut the beans into 2.5 cm pieces.
Halve the peppers, remove the core and cut the peppers into 1 cm wide strips.
    Peel off garlic and squeeze.
Cut beef steaks into strips 1.5 cm wide.

  3. In a large pan without the addition of fat, roast sesame for 2 - 3 minutes and remove from the pan.
In a small bowl mix food starch with plenty of salt and pepper. Roll the beef strips in it.
In the same large pan, heat the oil high and sautรฉ the strips of beef for about 2 minutes.
Then remove from the pan and put aside.

  4. Wipe out the pan with kitchen paper, then heat the oil again.
Sautรฉ garlic and white spring onion rings for about 2 minutes over medium heat.
Add the beans and strips of pepper and fry for about 9 minutes until the vegetables are a bit softer.
Season to taste with a little salt and pepper.

  5. Add the strips of beef to the vegetables in the pan.
Stir in the secret ingredient, white wine vinegar, water and sugar and simmer for about 2 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened.
Season the sauce with salt and pepper.

  6. Loosen the jasmine rice with a fork, fold in the sesame seeds and spread on a plate.
Garnish with strips of beef, garnish with green spring onion rings and enjoy.

Good Appetite

Thanks @dragraff. I had fun cooking it.
For this one, I think the secret ingredient is oyster sauce.

Oh no! Another recipe with sesame seeds. Haha!

You are welcome @evlachsblog!
I'm glad you had fun cooking it. Will you be trying this one as well?

And yes, indeed another one with sesame seeds :))

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes, I will be trying this one. I already bought the ingredients. But I think I will be cooking it on Monday.

So, is it oyster sauce? :)

I'm guessing Tamari sauce.

You are very close @viki-ventures :)

I figured that soy sauce was too obvious.
So the other one I'd go for would be teriyaki sauce.

(Unfortunately for me, I can't have any of them because of a strong soy intolerance.)

This might be too easy but... soybean oil/sauce? :)))

Hmm... It seems you have a very good eye @lightcaptured ๐Ÿ˜Š
But for now all I can say is maybe - maybe not ๐Ÿ˜…
I'll let you know the answer in a few days

Hehehe, of course, @dragraff ;)
I cook from time to time, mainly European kitchen, some baking as well, and I know for sure most of the great mains have at least 2 kind of oil... For example, old Italian secret is to put some cow butter along the olive oil when preparing the sauce for the pasta ;))) :P

Iโ€™m guessing oyster sauce? ๐Ÿ˜
