Turtle, Shine Instead, Day 94 of the 100 Days of Poetry
Turtle, Shine Instead
break on through
to the other side
crack the bony armour
depart this fragile state
this planetoid ego
or keep searching
for a message
for understanding
of the alien
within the shell
find some exuberance
rest until recharged
it’s a long journey
for those that string lights
and gather data
for the time being
be loquacious; be silent
be a turtle with a habit
of sticking his neck out
choose the lengthy ride
be the glowing dome
whose slow progress
warms and illuminates
frozen black iciness
it’s only dark
because you haven’t gotten there yet
the other side
is just a dissolve
nothing worth rushing for
a fade to black
then you start over again
shine instead, little turtle

A Thank you to @d-pend for curating the challenge
seems like we are all singing into the abyss, dancing with eternity, but we must never forget, to do so to the heartbeat of the universe =D
Never forget we are never alone and all of us are in it together:):):)
likens the life of a turtle. very smart in thinking @prydefoltz friend.
Interesting symbology I like the use of black to represent the nothing, that after him, there is only him and Also the contrast between darkness and brightness.
Excellent work, Pryde!
Thank you, zeleira:)
"it’s only dark
because you haven’t gotten there yet"
That is a real Zinger. Love it.
Thank you, Mamadini:)
I do wish to break the bony armour. Turtles are the ones who live the longest, I think. beautiful
Excellent, Sayee:) They do so by going slow, knowing when and how to stick their neck out and when to retire.
I loved it, @prydefoltz ♥, and this is what it makes me think:
Indeed once we've found our own shine, this light can guide us through darkness. Hopefully, we'll realize it when our time comes.
Thank you, Marlyn:) May we realize it all the time ... what a world we would make.
This is an experiment and as someone that can "be a turtle with a habit
of sticking his neck out"
Let's see in 7 days if you get any rewards for this late comment @prydefoltz :)
Okay, let's see:)
