This is one of my nostalgic fruits in my childhood. In the yard of my house grew some tree trunks that I remember always bear dense fruit. My sister and I will be busy choosing black kerenda fruit, because the black fruit means very ripe, so even though it's a bit sap, but it tastes sweet enough. In medan and surrounding areas, we call it kerenda Fruit, while in Betawi is often called Fruit Kerendang.
In some places on the island of Java called fruit Samarinda, while in English known as Christ's Thorn, Bengal Currant, or Christmas Plum. The fruit of this kerenda can also be used as a coloring because its sap is very thick. Therefore the fruit of this kerenda also sold for sale in the market.

Ini adalah salah satu buah nostalgia saya di masa kecil saya. Di halaman rumah saya tumbuh beberapa batang pohon yang saya ingat selalu berbuah lebat. Adikku dan aku akan sibuk memilih buah jeruk hitam, karena buah hitam berarti sangat matang, jadi meskipun itu sedikit getah, tapi rasanya cukup manis. Di medan dan sekitarnya, kami menyebutnya Buah kerenda, sedangkan di Betawi sering disebut Buah Kerendang.
Di beberapa tempat di pulau Jawa disebut Buah Samarinda, sedangkan dalam bahasa Inggris dikenal sebagai Christ's Thorn, Bengal Currant, atau Christmas Plum. Buah kerenda ini juga bisa kita gunakan sebagai pewarna karena getah nya yang sangat kental. Oleh karena itu buah kerenda ini juga laku untuk dijual dipasaran.
