Flood Relief in South Indian state of Kerala - Update 51 - 02/Nov/2018

in #fundition5 years ago (edited)

Dear Steemians,

This is the 51st update post for the Fundition.io project I have created with regards to the fundraising for flood relief activities in the form of the donations to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund in the South Indian State of Kerala.

Here is the link to the Fundition.io project I have created: https://fundition.io/#!/@coolguy123/9a52q7rmd

Updates for last week:

In a much awaited relief to Kerala government employees, the Supreme Court of India dismissed the Kerala government's case of mandatory donation of their one month salary to flood relief activities.

Court ordered that, it's not mandatory for employees, but they can do so voluntarily.

Mobile phone provider VIVO contributed INR 1.15 Crore Indian Rupees to the flood relief activities.

Indian government proposed to release another 450 Crore Indian Rupees for re-construction of roads in the flood hit Kerala.

Indian artist by name Nandakumar from Kochi used his experience as an artist and his campaign on Facebook has fetched an amount of 95,900 Indian Rupees for the flood relief.

In an effort to bring more funds for the relief activities, more than 40 artists under the name Art Raises for Kerala(ARK), are willing to auction their art works to help flood affected people.

Updates on Donations and Support:

As the support from @fundition, @fulltimegeek and his bots and other Steemians continues on these series of updates the goal is getting nearer to us.

Just in case, you have spare witness votes and haven't voted @fulltimegeek as Witness, I would recommend to give a Witness vote to him for the support he is giving to many people like me.

The total amount including all donations and upvote supports stands at 1135$ out of the designated goal of 1500$ and the details are available in below screenshot. The Steem price continues to decline and hence the support amount for this project.

Thanks to @fundition on Steemit and @givens including @black-man on Whaleshares.io who are the main supporters of this project along with many Steemians who have supported either with donations and upvote support.

Well, the images are not current ones and were taken by various authors when the flood happened about 2 months back. Just to give a picture of things happened during flood, I am using those pictures as those are relevant to this project.
