Puffball mushroom and a monkey in a tree
Sam and I went to the woods for a bit today. It's becoming a Friday tradition for us. We found a big puffball and Sam climbed the tree that has been consumed in the turkeytail graveyard.
There's parts of this tree all over this small spot, and they all have big decaying turkeytails on them.

I remember kicking a puffball as a kid when out exploring it was well past its edible point and lived up to its name, not seen any for years but keeping my eyes open for cool fungi and those turkeytails didnt know about them untill seeing your post the other week 👍

Oh yeah, Sam kicked this one and it exploded lol I remember getting the little ones when we were kids and throwing them at each other. They smelled awful hahaha
The turkeytails are like a super medicine bro. Look into em some, it's really impressive!

Puffballs can be so much fun! It brings back memories of puffing them as a child on my grandparents farm.
I also really like eating them when they are young (still all white inside , not brown) having the large ones sliced, breaded and fried in butter. M-m-m!
I love fried mushrooms!!! I'll have to make some now. We picked up some mushrooms at the store the other day. New plan!
