useful Coprinus (part 2)

A few weeks ago I wrote about Coprinus mushrooms. The pics came from my iphone. This time I stumbled upon a huge camp of these shrooms -- and, luckily, I happened to borrow a camera with macro lens. I was cycling to my office yesterday (ofc I was late, as always!) and it was rainy, but I didnt care. I stopped, got on my knees and spent 20 minutes, clicking the shutter like a mad hare and almost dancing, being thrilled and circling rounds and rounds around them. (All images taken with canon 5d + Sigma 150mm macro-tele, raw conversion applied.)

They are really very photogenic, when they start to decay...

Young mushrooms have a characteristic “scaly” skin texture, which changes as the hat grows. On the grown specimens, it resembles an old sheep that has not been combed - the wool has fallen into tangles and hangs in shreds. Endless variety, a holiday textures!

Possibilities push us to a certain directions... having a .raw files not only makes such a colour correction possible, but really catalizez the process!.. it is .raw, not me to blame for this folly!

corpinus07.jpg
The mushroom has grown, and has begun to age - the edges of the hat are already decomposing, turning into the very black paint that gave the mushroom its second name, "ink hat". His hat just flows down drop by drop. A very beautiful bewitching sight!

A little divertisment and a bonus: sympatico water dew!

A birdie point of view:

Almost all the hats have residual traces of red on them. I honestly did not understand what it is.

I really dont want to copypaste here what I've already found out about this mushroom, from my previous post -- you may check it yourself. There are some intresting facts about it. Just in two words: it is edible (only for the part of its life cycle, when they are white and fresh), and its second name is 'ink caps', cause inks can be prepared of its caps (see the dirty grass around at some pics? it is the shroom that inked / blackened it !)

Happy Fungi Friday to you!

Excellent #fungifriday post. I put it you-know-where ;)

grand merci !

Great shots again @qwerrie, but for this post I can't pick a favorite one as I like way to many of these great mushroom shots and your great water drops shot.
Haha I can see you dance around and falling on your knees between these shrooms making some exited sounds that you find this field. Has to be something in the mind of a photographer to drop everything and step into your own world when you see a great subject.

i cannot but agree with you, I have no faves too!
they are all good... and seem to be basically the same; I mean, maybe at some point they become less intresting stuff to take pics of. well, now as it was the 1st time I conducted a proper session, I am happy with it.

here is a place for some beer... but they asked not to use it yet, so I put it on a little pause...

They look so awesome!!

They are so cool! Especially when they start to drip... like from some scary movie...
Nasty, poisonous goo :p

aha. my baby (and me) totally agree with you!

Wow, those are really fashionsble ^^ .. they have a really nice colour tone created due to the droplets that are dropping off from them .. hehe, you convinced me into the fungi friday today ;)

but, fungi arent against flowers!
you can have both !!!!!

:))))

(and in the end, fungi and bacteria take us all... right? )

That is the circle of life .. everything will be recyceled once .. even solar systems to it after a few billion years ^^

Plenty for a soup, with a nice beer afterwards... j/k
