MemeLogic - Government Corruption
As If That's Anything New
I think we should change the meaning of government to exactly what it is, and corruption seems like it doesn't do it enough justice, how about thieves.
I will never be able you go back to thinking that it is perfectly fine for the state to steal from us, because somehow it magically becomes something other than theft if they do it. There are a few of you who will say well the government needs to pay for certain things like protecting us, building roads and the list goes on and on, but I would like to ask you a question. When did you have a choice in any of this? The answer is you didn't, none of us ever had a choice.
There would never be any justification in me stealing from you, even if my reasoning were that I am going to use the money to save these little kittens that are about to get put down. If I have to run for office and do the exact same thing, that some how is just perfectly fine by most people. The question I'm left with is, how indoctrinated are we by governments?

I hear quite often from people who are not into the crypto scene that it is all just some kind of scam, that bitcoin is worthless. The question I always ask is what makes you think the fiat currency the bank issues is any different. The only reason it has value if because people believe it to have value. What people don't get is how much power we all have if we just stand together, which is why the best way to control the masses is by creating constant division. Just look at the current state of thing all over the world, imagine we all just decided today that we will no longer allow any state to take money from us, or if we stopped using their fiat currencies. What a beautiful fairy tale that would be.

I believe that every government has an obligation to provide for common defense and certain infrastructure necessary to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That takes money of some sort and taxes are the only way to provide that.
That said, there are taxes and there are TAXES. And there are fees which are taxes by a slightly different name.
Did you know that the excise tax we pay on our phones here in the US was enacted as a 'Tax the Rich' scheme to specifically pay for the Spanish American War. At that time, only 1 in 10,000 households or business' had phones, so the American public bought the idea. It's never been repealed and we still pay it on every phone line in the US.
I agree with what you say, it seems that there has always been a relationship between political power and corruption of the spirit. I believe that no matter where we are from, we agree that all politicians worldwide forget the common good, which is what they are supposed to accept at the beginning. They forget that nothing it is not theirs. They forget principles, values and ethics. They mediocrely believe that if they do not steal, then they will leave more to another. They are ignorant and uneducated people who, as they have not had their own effort, go crazy, and it is easy for them. They were not educated correctly, they do not understand that they should not take what does not belong to them... The most curious thing is that most politicians who steal believe that what they steal is part of their salary and the work they did. They believe that it is correct to receive part of the money they spend on public works and other purchases and services... They believe that it is okay, and that's the saddest thing; they think they are not stealing.
