When History Repeats Itself

in #funny6 years ago (edited)

Not sure how many of you are watching the World Cup that takes place in Russia, but this is probably the funniest and catchiest meme I've seen in a while...

Dude, that was GENIUS!!!! HA HA HA HA

Fun Fact:

Even if Russia had no good diplomatic relations with Greece, it would still be Greece's best friend. Why? Well, let me put it this way; two countries have damaged Greece the most in the past 400-500 years: Turkey without a doubt and Germany, which during WWII became responsible for the execution of 25% of Greece's total population. Brute invaders both of them by any standard you look at it. My grandpa was one of the victims btw.

Now Russia on the other hand, other than being Greece's ally in many cases (even though the Greeks always betrayed them in the end in favour of the Americans and Brits), adopting Greek Orthodox Christianity and using the Greek Byzantine Double-Headed Eagle as the official symbol of its country, have emasculated both the Turks and Germans in several occasions.

Just take a look at the History of the Russo-Turkish Wars to get a clear idea of what a DEADLY menace to Turkey the Ruskies have traditionally been, while when it comes to the Germans y'all are probably familiar with this picture right here...

Long story short and despite what Americans or Hollywood may tell you, it was the Russians who decisively beat the Germans and made them surrender in WWII. The facts...You just can't argue with the facts!

One way or another....Never fock with the Ruskies! The Soviet Union participated in 18 Olympic Games and beat the Americans in 14 of them (medal rankings). Sent the first man, woman, animal, spaceship and satellite in space, while USA directed a moon-landing in Texas somewhere.

As for who truly won the Cold War of "ideology and economy" between the two? You may be the judge...

I could add the teams of other "winning" nations of the West ala France, England, Germany etc. but if you don't get the point by now, you never will I suppose.

However, I will say this: I ain't 100% (or even 1% to be honest) sure Harry Truman or Winston Churchill dreamed of THIS USA, or THIS UK back in 1946 when they were about to start the Cold War against the Russians. No? So, who truly won the Cold War? That's food for thinking ain't it?

Especially if you take into account how Russia and China produced x2 and x5 respectively more billionaires than USA during 2017. Losing in your own game is a hard pill to swallow no doubt about that, but we all have to admit that it's truly comical how things work out sometimes, huh? ;)

hahaha nice post

lol! I admire the creativity of your mind @tkappa

There are opinions that Vladimir Putin bought this World Cup 2018, so the results of matches are suspiciously «unpredictable», and the Russian team will be the Champion...

Well, that's a sci-fi scenario but I wouldn't be surprised. You never know with Putin.

My brother, i'm just kidding. But final scores of some games are realy too «quirky»...

We'll see. It would be a great way to show who is the King of the Hill in a modern world. Who will be surprised by yachts or skyscrapers-Casino today?
Cheers...

Thanks bro :) lol

I never liked German football although they're usually the front runners. But this world cup has brought a lot of surprises in general, so you just can't tell who's gonna end up winning the cup!

As far as Russians vs. Americans go, they're comfortable being business partners now with occasional breaks :)

So, like some wise (but filthy) old men once said, "There are not real friendships in politics or economy, just interests." In other words, capitalist today, communist tomorrow, a little of both the day after depending where the profit is huh? :)

It's all about money... it's the ultimate religion :)
