Juggling Act: Creating the Future While Also Being in Charge of the Present

I am busy at the moment.

Busy, busy, busy, busy, BUSY.

I am going through that thing we sometimes go through — some of us more than others — that we might call "reinventing ourselves."

The exciting part is that we get to create a new plan; to move towards a different and hopefully brighter future.

Alas, few people who go through this process have the luxury of being able to sit down to just breathe and contemplate their pocket lint for a while, as part of the picture.

Since these things are often precipitated by some kind of financial or personal crisis, most likely, one thing will end and you have to hit the ground running and ready to charge into the new thing. Whatever your "thing" is.

Life is ALWAYS a Challenge

One of the things we often say is that we just "don't have time" to do the things we need to.

As part of my ongoing process — which I am actually enjoying documenting here on the blockchain — I am constantly dealing with the "issue" that it pretty much takes all my daily energy, effort and personal bandwidth to simply manage and operate the Present, meaning that I actually have very little time to create this future I am trying to move towards.

I suppose these situations arise because we take too long — either through ignorance or stubbornness — to realize (or admit) that some project we're involved in is on a collision course with breakdown and failure.

"I wouldn't have gotten myself in this mess if only I'd realized...."

Maybe so, but we're here now.

Subtle Psychological Impacts....

The interesting side effect there is that it can be a real struggle to feel inspired to create one's new future when your starting point is that you feel beaten down and exhausted simply as a result of trying to navigate and negotiate an overwhelming and failing Present.

Although I am definitely moving forward... I find that the steps of progress I make are often so tiny that it's almost depressing to observe my own lack of progress.

So I'm going to post this and then head off to do a couple of hours' worth of social media work elsewhere. Frankly? I'd rather be sleeping, but at the moment that's not really an option. I take some heart in at least getting a little enjoyment from writing about it all, here...
