What is... Ether Dungeon?

The second ETH cryptocurrency game i'm focusing on in my 'Whats...' series is Ether Dungeon, The first diablo-like dungeon crawler to be playable on the blockchain.

"Ether Dungeon is a real ethereum blockchain based game in which players can explore the depth of dungeons, collecting & upgrading epic heroes, powerful items, challenge fierce enemies, and finally become the Dungeon Master!"

Ether Dungeon gets my focus today as in less than 24 hours the BETA will be available to all new players, including a number of new features and dungeons for you to tackle.

How do I start?

When you arrive on beta launch you'll be presented with a screen similar to this one:

The holyland dungeon was the only one available to closed Alpha players of the game, so i would assume it should be your choice if you're just starting out in the beta.
Upon entering Holyland you'll be greeted by a screen similar to this one:

We can break down the UI as follows:

The character icon in the bottom left corner when pressed presents you with your character overview screen, where you can view your gear and stats.
The 5 Icons on the right in descending order are: Battle History, Training History, Hero Naming, Newsfeed and Global leaderboard.
The withdraw button can be used when you've successfully tackled a dungeon. You get a prize of ETH for beating dungeon floors!
The two blessing buttons form up your hero's training, a particular dungeon cannot be unlocked or attacked until enough players have made an offering, and your hero is high enough level to meet the requirements.
The Challenge button allows you to attempt to clear a dungeon floor.

How do I begin my epic quest... journey... thing?

The aim of the game as things stand is to level up your hero to a high enough power rating to be able to attack the dungeon, each training you take part in has a small fee, that is added to the dungeon raiding pool.
When raided the successful dungeon attacker will receive an amount of ethereum based around the amount of training that has been conducted globally since the last level of the dungeon was cleared.
Each dungeon is shared between all players, so once someone defeats level 10, you'd immediately attack level 11. It's not an individual dungeon level counter, but a global one shared between all players.
The dungeons seem to increase in difficulty after every 50 levels

Whats new in this release?

The BETA introduces a number of new gameplay features not previously available during the beta, these include a new dungeon, new mechanics - the rush timer, and super heroes.

The developers have a solid roadmap available on their website, laid out in stages:
By entering the BETA tomorrow you'll have a great chance to play this game at the ground floor, also it's cost of entry is arguably much cheaper than many other games around in the blockchain right now.
