Guild Wars 2: Stuff you don't need part 2

in #games5 years ago

As I have mentioned many times before Guild Wars 2 is a fantastic MMORPG that you can download and play almost all of the content without paying anything. There is no monthly fee there is no cost to buy the base game. This is the best deal running as far as trying out new MMO's are concerned. I ended up paying nearly $40 to try Final Fantasy Online and in the end i found it incredibly boring. That being said GW2 is a good one and you don't have to buy anything... ever. However most people end up buying something. This is something you don't need.

Additional Crafting License(s)

For anyone that starts to play the game a bit you will become very familiar with crafting as it is a major part of the game and just happens to be the ONLY way you can obtain certain high-tier items such as ascended weapons and armor.

However, you cant' just simply jump into your crafting station and start making the best (this probably seems obvious to any MMO veterans) you have to earn it via experience. The good news about this is that it is reasonably entertaining and you gain regular experience that can help to level you up your normal levels also.

you combine items in this interface in order to learn new recipes for creation of armor (light, med, and heavy) and also for 3 types of weapon crafting. There is also a jewelry craft and food craft. In my opinion the chef is the easiest for beginners and can actually be a bit fun.

Each toon you have is allowed to have 2 crafts they specialize in and now we are getting to why the "Additional Crafting License" is something no one should ever purchase.

By default you can have 5 characters in the game and each one of those characters can specialize in 2 crafts. There are only 9 crafts. Can you do the math? There is no reason to have an additional crafting license unless you are a wierdo that can be fussed with logging out to log in another character.

I personally don't know anyone who has ever purchased one of these and even when ArenaNet (the makers of GW2) has a super special on these things... still no one buys them. I am surprised they are still in the market to be honest.

Crafting is a major part of this game and it is a great way to level up a character if you know what you are doing it is actually very efficient way to acquire XP (there are guides out there on how you can level up your toon to max level JUST by crafting.)

So once again I am hoping that perhaps a bit of money will be saved by someone who happens to encounter this. It likely wont be any of my Steemit followers because I don't think any of you guys even play GW2, despite my constant encouragement for you to do so :)

Sort:

I am not a fan of playing games much. but yes heard about GW2 and if you are considering this part to be not much interesting then most of the players and your readers will try to avoid it as much as possible.
keep flourishing.
