RE: [CLOSED] Roll the dice for FREE & win SBD!

in #games6 years ago

@braaiboy, I'm pulling out. Sorry. You have a good thing going here, but it's not for me. I'd like to make some suggestions on my way out.

  1. You pay bidbots to vote on [OPEN] posts. This takes away from the prize pool of people voting. In the future, use bots to bid on [CLOSED] posts to increase the value of the payout without reducing the prize pool.
  2. 5% of the SBD earned will go directly to Powering Up.
@playdice already powers up from 50% of the rewards. I recommend the 5% instead go toward @braaiboy as a salary and @braaiboy doesn't decrease the winnings by voting on [OPEN] posts

I'll come back when the pool isn't o diluted. Thanks

Thanks for the feedback @r351574nc3 ... yeah, I'll be making a few minor tweaks next week (have got a huge meat festival that I'm part of that's been chowing time this week and will keep me busy over the weekend).

Re 1):
If you check @playdice's wallet history, you'll see that the bidbots are excluded from receiving payouts... except for 1 bid per game that I send to @MinnowBooster - this results in a real person upvoting, so they qualify for payouts (and they typically upvote with far more than the minimum 0.006... i.e. more than add their share to the reward pool).
In the next 2 weeks I'm also going to start using all the SBD that comes from a) "crashed games" (i.e. games that couldn't close because the nodes were timing out/whatever) as well as b) "There were no winners" games, on bid-bots on [CLOSED] games. Either that or reward the person(s) with the highest "lose rate"

Re 2) Yeah... @PlayDice has got enough SP now that it doesn't need the accelerated growth anymore that it needed when it was still on 15SP.

Re my playing the game: I upvote with way more than the 0.006 (well used to when STEEM was nice and high)... gonna up my % vote again next week when I get a chance, so... similar to the @MinnowBooster votes, my vote adds more to the pool than it does take away when winning... but I like the idea of using @playdice's 5% for myself and excluding myself from qualifying for a win (the same as I do with @playdice itself and the bid-bot votes).

Thanks for the suggestions!

It's not about payment. @drotto is still listed as a winner/loser. I don't know if that means it's used to calculate the prizepool, but I would think it does. Whether that bot actually gets rewarded only part of it.

There's an easy solution. Just don't vote on [OPEN] posts. It's removed from the prize pool. Rewards are still added to the post's value. Less logic has to be added to the bot.

Besides the prize pool, I just don't feel comfortable seeing a bot listed as a winner.

I hear you @r351574nc3 ... The logic to exclude bots from payout calculations is easier than moving the logic to a separate bot to update the post after the fact.

The good news is that I've already removed most of these "penny bots" from upvoting (because they have become so overused that many of them are only upvoting posts after payout).

The long-term plan is that there will be enough users actually playing the game that there won't be any need for them. The short term solution is to exclude them completely (as I do @playdice itself)... this will happen in the next week or two.

Anyway... Thanks again for the suggestions.

Awesome! Thanks for accepting and responding to my feedback.
