A Great Game: Crash Bandicoot

in #gaming6 years ago (edited)

In this opportunity I bring you a game that many of you will remember, a very entertaining game, and of which I have good memories. Crash Bandicoot is a platform game, released for the Playstation 1, was created by Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin, who are founders of the company Naughty Dog, was published by Sony Computer Entertainment, and is one of the most beloved characters of Playstation.

Crash Bandicoot was a success, was published in 1996, sold more than 6 million copies and coincided in its launch with the revolutionary Super Mario 64, which was also published in 1996. This game was centered on an anthropomorphic marsupial, who lives in Wumpa Islands, this marsupial came to have an anthropomorphic form due to the genetic manipulation made by Dr. Neo Cortex and his assistant Nitrus Brio, these last two being the villains of Crash.

Game Introduction

Dr. Neo Cortex can not fulfill his plans of world domination, so our protagonist must cross all the contamination caused by Neo Cortex, crossing entertaining levels to save Tawna, who is Crash's girlfriend and also a genetically modified marsupial.

The game contains 25 levels, 2 secret levels and 6 battles against the bosses, who are: Papu Papu (chief of the village), Ripper Roo the demented, the strong Koala Kong, a gunman named Pinstripe Potoroo, and the Doctor and assistant of Neo Cortex called Nitrus Brio, to finally confront Dr. Neo Cortex. Our protagonist must cross levels breaking boxes, avoiding falling into holes and finishing his enemies, and each box you break contains a quantity of a fruit called Wumpa. When we overcome a level having taken all the Wumpa fruits and without losing a life, then we will be granted a gem. The way Crash attack his enemies is by jumping on them and turning on itself being on top of them, this last attack will be the most effective to face some of the bosses of the game.

Some of the levels of the game allow us to mount a boar, which will take us at great speed through the level, and where we will have to dodge our enemies while advancing at high speed. There are also levels where we will have to run to the camera to escape a large rock that will try to kill us, and at the same time you must avoid falling into holes and several obstacles. You can collect the Aku Aku masks that are in the boxes, these give you the ability to protect Crash from enemies, and if you have 3 Aku Aku masks, then you can have invulnerability over less important enemies and obstacles.

The Tawna bonus rounds allow the player to obtain more Wumpa fruit and extra life, and these rounds are obtained by obtaining the symbols of Tawna, Dr. Neo Cortex or Dr. Nitrus Brio, which are hidden in several levels.

After beating the 5 bosses of the different islands and burning the castle of Dr. Neo Cortex, Crash and the Dr will have a fight over an airship, leaving Crash as the winner, and Doctor Cortex falls from his flying board towards an unknown place.

Note that there is a remastering that contains the first 3 deliveries of Crash, called Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, where the graphic quality gives a giant leap, making even more enjoyable not only the classic first delivery of Crash, but the other 2 deliveries where the adventures of our protagonist are made even more entertaining.
