Drug Wars is Here (Already!)

It was only a month ago that I posted some thoughts about making a Drug Wars clone called Silk Boulevard. Little did I know, a week later, @hightouch was on the way to creating @drugwars.

This is amazing initiative and a testament to this community.
This is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for.

So, let's be honest, this game is crap!
And rightfully so...

DRUGWARS EARLY ACCESS V0.1.2

But that doesn't matter. What matters is the game is "free", and that lowers the bar of entry and gets more people playing it and looking at Steem at the same time. It definitely has the look and feel of a Pay-To-Win service like Evony, Farmville, or Candy Crush. However, what does Drug Wars have that those games don't? Steem! An underlying currency connected directly to everything on the platform.

This game creates a carrot on a stick incentives and pays out real money to the accounts that are able to horde the most drugs and fund "Bank Heists".

Just look at how much activity this game has already!

That's right @themarkymark I can see you've upgraded your crack house 3 hours ago.
LOL!

Using SteemConnect security and the power of Steem posting key cryptography this game shows us the amazing power of the Steem blockchain. A free-to-play game with REAL MONEY rewards. Nothing like this has ever existed.

That is why I'm much more excited for a game like this than say @steemmonsters, because while Steem Monsters is certainly an objectively better game, it isn't free and it doesn't pay out. Also, apparently it took less than a month to create what @drugwars has done so far... which is pretty amazing imo.

Amazing work.

Cryptokitties just became that much more of a joke.

Cant wait for some gang action! ;)

It has been incredibly fun to play :D Never played 'the original' unfortunately, the first time I played some sort of click/harvesting game was Farmville and whoa I did spend many hours on that one! (Okay, I have to admit that was while writing a thesis, so I had to find some distraction ;-))

I think your months ago desire to have more and more games on the block chain is coming to fruition. I’m excited, would love a good MMO on here. I’m not sure about Chibera that’s on here, I kind of think it’s going to be another DLive situation (or whatever platform used Steem then left once it was popular).

Imagine how many games will be produced for Steem blockchain once the bulls return and once the word gets out that this blockchain can handle such volume of transactions with no sweat.

So many games. We will have to invent a way to organize them all.

This is amazing. I am gonna check it out directly.

Thanks!

Can't wait to learn more about it. Does SP play any role in the game, or do you need to pay them continuously in Steem to unlock features? I saw another post where the person said they paid 30 Steem and made 5 back. They weren't complaining, but I didn't get excited at that ratio the way it was presented, lol.

Overall I am a bit excited despite my ignorance. Fakebook makes a killing on people buying their game tokens to advance, and this could be huge for everyone here. There was a game coin one of those I followed on position trading made a mint on that was used for gaming. Dont remember the name of it offhand, but it had periodic spikes as people bought it to use in their game.

Awesome find!

Crack house :D

I still need to get my head around it as I have not really been able to understand it but will get to it soon enough. Crazy to consider that I am playing games on Steem as it was never a thought when I started yet I just spent almost 500 Steem on Steem Monster cards yesterday!
