Welcome to my blog readers who are passionate about videogames, especially race simulators. In this opportunity I bring you this publication about the game Rfactor in its second edition. In my previous post I explained in summary each of the aspects of Rfactor, but to continue in the same harmony, today I will talk more about Rfactor 2, so you know more about the subject.

Rfactor 2 is a game of the group of computer racing simulators, which was developed and launched by the company Image Space Incorporated in 2003. Like the first edition of the game , Rfactor, the 2 can also be modified by specialist communities, also by professional teams such as the international F1 and Nascar for the training of their pilots. Rfactor 2 was designed to simulate any type of vehicle and automotive category in the world. It has very advanced physics which makes the experience with this simulator more entertaining.

Like Rfactor Pro, the two were created with open codes, with the purpose that the communities or companies that wished could modify them at their convenience for their use or at the same time create new content for the game. The engine used by this simulator is isiMotor2, which is a software simulation engine used by professional teams such as F1 and NASCAR.

The Physics of Rfactor 2 are among the best in the simulator industry, due to the dynamic simulation of the cars, which is highly advanced and that is why it is preferred by the motorsport teams of the real life, to make tests in their designs of the cars and to see the behavior they may have on the track, which makes it easier for the rider and the engineers to have more data to improve the car if necessary. Due to all the previously said, this great game has a high difficulty, since both the professional pilots and the simracers (Virtual or Game Pilots), were not used to having this kind of simulators, which forced to have to take care of the tires, because if they overheat or wear out too much, which in turn causes blockage in the tires and therefore creates a flat spot with strong vibrations in the car, which causes an imbalance in the car and therefore make time Slow

What I can say about the playability of Rfactor2, is that being a simulator is designed to be played with computer steering wheel, however there is the option of the keyboard, but the latter makes difficult the handling on the track . The game has some available aids such as traction control, stability control, anti-lock braking and steering assistance, as well as automatic gear shift and automatic clutch.

The main menu of the game is created like other racing video games, where we have the option to choose the track we want to run, with pilot stories of artificial intelligence we want to compete and their level of driving and aggressiveness. In addition, there is the possibility of configuring the race options, such as the number of laps, the rules of the flags and the climatic conditions. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is very advanced, much better than that of the first Rfactor, which makes competition in the race more difficult, which means that for a professional Simracers it makes it more exciting. The skills, abilities and aggressiveness of the AI, can be modified for those who are not so pro, can adapt to the Game. The Mod available from the simulator, bring some AI with the skills of real life drivers, so that the races and the competition are for recreational and useful for the consumers of the product.

The circuits available in the game are many, mostly from the different categories or most important series of world motorsport, such as the Nascar ovals, the permanent circuits, the Rally track and even the street track, such as Monaco of F1.

Advantages of the Rfactor Simulator 2:

• Includes important improvements with respect to rFactor, both in realism and in simulation: meteorology, shadows and tires.

• There is still a smaller variety of mods and plugins for rFactor2, while the rFactor competitions are still active.

In Conclusion, I can tell you that the game Rfactor 2 is a great race simulator, not only for those people who like to play, but as it is a well developed game is used by teams , engineers and pilots of the world Motor Sport field of real life, to practice in the different circuits and thus be able to see the sensations with the car. This simulator is very useful for the engineers who are responsible for the development of the cars because this simulator allows them to test before taking the car to the track and thus have data. In a normal person account, good is very good game, although very difficult, but it does not stop being the best in simulation in the market.
