FIFA 19 (SWITCH)

in #gaming5 years ago

Sometimes it really is not just the best one, and this is a sample example. We may be ahead of you, and you should wait until the end, but FIFA 19 is (perhaps with the exception of the Football Manager but targeting another audience) the best football for the Nintendo Switch. For this title, however, only the game was better than the previous year. And that is very, really very little. Although FIFA 18 on the Switch collected comparatively fair stamps, reviews from around the world with a raised warning finger with one breath added that it would be more than just a cut version. At EA Sports, however, they obviously did not learn.

"Big" FIFA 19 is also very good this year, although it seems that it is already breathing in the current generation. But it pulls it in other directions, for example with the story mode, the last chapter of which we enjoyed not only in Alex Hunter's skin. Maybe we did not expect Switch to make the final of The Journey to this version, even though the 2K competition shows that Switch can bring a full-featured sports title offer. But we definitely waited for another rehearsal of the previous year with a modified gameplay that is even better, but it certainly will not be a reason to buy if you have a previous version for Switch or elsewhere else.

I've been thinking longer about actually taking this review. Whether it is not the best, the most humble and the most remarkable to just give a link to a large version review and a listing of what is not all here. And it's not that small. It starts with the start-up, where we have not experienced, for example, the Czech localization of texts in the game, which is not a big mistake, but they are things that are already done in another version, so it's a bit harder to understand that it's not here too. In addition, many players are missing. Similarly, the game is also cut in the area of presentation, which is, for example, an area where FIFA always overcomes PES, but it is all very distraught on Switches. The stadiums are dull, no dynamics, only the official graphics of the licensed competitions remain.

Even in the things that are here from this "big" version, there is something missing here and there. Unfortunately, something is particularly relevant to the depth of the game experience. Without the The Journey storyline, there is only a classic gaming offer that you've been accustomed to for years, both offline and online. So, for example, you have a Career mode that I've rated negatively in the big console review and the PC is very stagnant, and it would need to take a second breath thanks to more interesting news. Of course, you do not find the news, but there is even more dynamic and interaction, since these things are part of a new engine so they can not get here.

So you have to be frustrated with an even older career, which is a tremendous shame, as you will probably spend more time with him in a tight offer. In addition, the Champions League mode comes out as it is one of the things that have been transferred to this version, but they also do not miss some cuts. The Champions League will bring you the most prestigious football club competition in the world, which is actually a limited career. However, it brings with it traditional evening matches, the legendary anthem of the competition, as well as traditional visuals and very good comments. It is only a shame that while on the big consoles and PC hearts of a football fan it is already clear from the presentation, it is very flat, static, much is missing. You do not feel any emotions from virtual stadiums.

From classical content, there are only mandatory options like Skill games and tournaments. The women's football game has gone all the way down, and when I was thinking about playing EA Sports as a game content, I did not really touch it at all since its launch in the series a few years ago. Maybe if they came up with something new in this area (and not just a quick match and a tournament), then the splinter Switch version would not get so empty.

Fortunately, not everything in the area of content is just plain or the same as in other versions. The great pleasure of the current FIFA series is the new Kick off mode, Excavation. And if, like me, you also spend most of the time with FIFA games in a companionship with a beer buddy and playing one match after another, no matter what the release you will appreciate. The new Kick off comes with a number of new options, especially those that make it easy for you to set your own rules. Either turn them off completely, or they only pay goals from volleyball and heads, or even after every goal you see one of your players accidentally drops, so you play a Battle Royale. Maybe it would have wanted more detailed settings for the future (from the brunch to 3, etc.), but it's just enough to do that and you'll get some fun.

Enough was the positive news, let's go back to something negative. In recent years, FIFA has moved to FIFA Ultimate Team, where you can not only spend a lot of money if you like, but also spend many hours in it, as it is one of the most stunning ones, and it really offers a funnel in both online and offline parts. you fold your teams from the cards, you also manage their cards and gradually climb up the divisions. FUT is also starting to stagnate a bit, but at least some changes have occurred this year. Not on Switch.

The base is here, it still offers fun for long hours, and I might not even have this remorse, but the Division Rivals really mixed up the possibilities of this mode, while on Switch you will have to do with the classic Online Seasons of the West. And once you have the one-time option in one version, you would want it in the next one. Offline squads are missing Squad Battles. They missed you last year, everyone criticized it, but they are not here, so here you have to rely on classics. The FUTF itself is still a good regime (although we would definitely welcome the opportunity to play completely offline on the go), but it is also a missed opportunity

In the field of traditional online modes, this has also not changed much since the previous year on Switch, without any glory, but rather the core that suffices. You can play the online season (again the mode that would already need some news and enhancements within the series), play friendly online games with friends (there are also invitations for you and FUT) or a local season between several Switch consoles.

Even so, there is one thing that keeps this version above the water, and it is perhaps surprisingly good gameplay. FIFA 19 on Switch is actually such a huge bastard in which you feel the impact of some recent years, but the result is really very good playable in every field. The impression of football is good, dynamic, decent in the defense and with very well-worked touch, so it all acts naturally, not artificially. Passes are too often too precarious, but that is not a problem. Rather outdated animations of some moves, but there is probably nothing to do here. He will definitely be pleased with the new shooting mechanism, so there are indications that some efforts have been made by the authors to invest. You'll also be pleased with the fact that the game is well-handled with a single Joy-Conom, although you have to sacrifice some more specific features, but if you need it, you can handle it.

Well then you just have to realize that FIFA 19 does not look like Switch and it does not sound like the other versions. If this was the first attempt at EA Sports to bring the brand to Switch, many things could be forgiven, but that's simply too much missing here, and I'm not just talking about storyline. It's still a good game with which to spend many hours, but that's all. Still somewhere in the head there will be the feeling that you will get some more. We have come to a paradoxical situation where the new year is better on the game, but it is not a better choice, which must also be reflected in the mark
