E3 2018: Bethesda brings everything we have been waiting for

in #gaming6 years ago

Today was a good day at E3 and oh boy did Bethesda deliver the goods. We finally got the official reveal of Fallout 76 and it's release date. As well as a teaser that the game everyone has been asking for is coming.

For everyone that has been waiting up to watch the E3 showcases, it is fair to say that these announcements have left you far from disappointed. The hype is real people and there are some great games coming our way. Bethesda announcements so far have included:

  • Rage 2
  • Fallout 76
  • Doom: Eternal
  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood
  • PREY: Mooncrash
  • The Elder Scrolls: Blades
  • Starfield
  • The Elder Scrolls VI

We knew Fallout 76 was coming at E3 but we were excited to find out more about the next instalment of the Fallout series. An investigation into the teaser trailer found this one would be a prequel to previous Fallouts and we were right. There were rumours that it would be online and once again, they would be correct. At the showcase, it was said that the game would be entirely online but there would be the option to play solo like previous Fallout games. To be set in West Virginia as the song from the trailer would suggest, and four times the size of Fallout 4, there is a hell of a lot more wasteland to explore.

The all-important difference here will be that all the characters will be real people. Some players will be friendly, some will not but you have the opportunity to play with your friends and team up. Small multiplayer servers limited to just 'dozens' of online players will become your Vault Dwellers new home. You can, of course, change servers and even die without losing your progress. The building will also take a new turn where you can now build wherever you like and even pack up and take it with you. Want to take out someone else's base? Well, you can do that too, just find the nuclear launch codes and send them a nuke.

Watch the Official E3 Trailer video below to see what Fallout 76 will look like and some gameplay.

There will also be a Power Armour Special Edition available that comes with a glow in the dark map, a wearable T-51 Power Armour helmet and much more. When will we be able to jump into this post-apocalyptic world you ask? The 14th of November 2018, which is just 5 months away.

There was also a short teaser for Skyrim's successor title, The Elder Scrolls VI. It showed us that Bethesda is at least working on it. Not much else other than that is known, not even a name yet. The release date will probably be years from now and will also probably come after the Starfield release. But Elder Scrolls fans can wait, we have been for a while now and we will hold out for what VI will bring and where it will take us.

Happy E3 everyone!
