I'm not impressed with NA's chance of making it out of group stage this worlds. Most of the time our teams seem lacklustre at best with moments of brilliance, but overall just seemed to struggle against teams with more overall talent. Yesterday C9 seemed like NA's best bet to make it out of groups. Today 100 Thieves at least showed they can make something happen on the world's stage. Team Liquid still seems to be asleep behind the wheel.

Cloud 9

After the 1st stage of play-ins for Group B the field is still wide open. Royal Never Give Up is a strong favourite to win again, so no surprise they are dominantly in first place. Cloud 9 is in a 3-way tie for second with Vitality (Europe) and Gen G (Korea). As NA's 3rd seed it would be a huge upset if Cloud 9 was to manage to pull off second place, but I would be ok if Vitality made it out as well.

Team Liquid

Fingers crossed Team Liquid will be able to win their last game in the 1st stage tomorrow against the Taiwanese team MAD Team. If they can't at least pick up that win tomorrow I'm counting them out of worlds this year as I don't see a chance for them to come back. I would love to see Team Liquid pull an upset against KT Rolster (Korea) or Edwards Gaming (China's 3rd seed) during the 2nd stage as that's the only chance they have to make it out of groups. Team Liquid needs to quit winning objectives like dragon or bat the cost of the game.

100 Thieves

100 Thieves at least won the gimme today against G-Rex. They could always pull out the upset against Invictus Gaming, but I don't see that happening. The best chance is if Fnatic drops a game to 100 Thieves and/or G-Rex or 100 Thieves upset Invictus Gaming tomorrow.

Well hopefully NA goes 1 and 1 tomorrow with Team Liquid pulling the easy win. I can always dream that we could go 2 and 0. That would be nice. Let me know in the comments down below who, if anyone you are following for Worlds 2018.
