I can't say either. My first game of this genre was Life is Strange. And it's hard to find some because every site calls it differently. "Emotional adventure" is mine idea. I got to To the Moon just thanks to a recommendation of my bf who saw a review of our Steemit friend on Steam.
Maybe there are some older emotional adventures, but it's possible that they are not that good and so they're unknown.
