~60,000 USD spent on a digital cosmetic item!
Well obviously not me, but a player named MambaaElChap from Indonesia spent 360,000 BCC to buy a cosmetic item on Ragnarok M: Eternal Love via their Auction House System which was just released 2 weeks ago.
Unlike Zenies (in-game currency), BCC can only be obtained by topping-up on the game. According to their official payment center, 564 BCC = P5000 or $95.28 USD

Seeing that MambaaElChap spent 360,000 BCC to win that bid, simple math then dictates that he spent around: (360,000/564) * 95.28 USD = $60,817.021 USD
Possibly making him the first player to have owned this item equipment which boosts the characters movement speed by +50% (Insane stats for a supah dupah expensive item XD).
What's more insane though is that that is not the only one item that were up for auction, there were 9 other item equipments that were up for auction.

Golden Thief Bug Card = 110,956 BCC
Deviling Card = 19,633 BCC
Goblin Leader Card = 59,035 BCC
Maya Card = 22,528 BCC
Kobold Leader Card = 69,896 BCC

Eddga Card = 82,861 BCC
Key of Heaven = 360,000 BCC
In total 831,101 BCC or = P7,367,916.666666667 = $140,403.02 USD
I sure do hope that the Ragnarok M team can now afford a much more bigger and stable server as a lot of lags and bugs have been happening inside the game for weeks now! XD
It would also be nice to see a game like Ragnarok M being built on top of Steem. A lot of people belittle gamers for having such a childlike hobby or activity but we are also one of the few people out there who wouldn't mind spending some side money just to get stronger and look cool in the game. XD
People is just crazy, and you say it's only cosmethic?, I mean it doesn't have any utility in the game?, there isn't many difference to me if its a practic item or not, just a little more dumb... -.-
Aside from the insane +50% movement boost, none!
Would have been better if they throw in some additional P.Attk/M.Attk increase or improvement in the character stats but from what I've seen the only thing the above item gives is a movement boost.

Omg this is really crazy. How could someone invest so much money on just a game? If they are investing so much of money on buying in game items, I'm just trying to imagine how much wealthier they would have been. 😲😵

That's a lot of money to spend on an online game! Although I used to play RO before and have bought a lot of top up cards back then. I still have those cards for souvenir. My mom say I am addicted to Ragnarok. My friends say we were just dedicated with the game. LOL
Still 60K USD!!! I'm glad I didn't have that much extra money else I might have spent that much too. XD

And yeah I agree almost all serious players are just simply dedicated to the game :)
If I have 60k USD though I won't spend it on a SINGLE ITEM! I would probably spend it 6 fold, 10k for headger, 10k for armor, 10k for accessory, 10k for mount and so on lol
