FORTNITE New Season, New Map! Download here!
The first week of Season 4 on Fortnite has kicked off with a literal BANG! The Meteor that was seen in Season 3 has finally crashed into the map and created new points of interest and also left a giant crater where Dusty Depot was giving it the new name of Dusty Divot!
If you have tuned into the game during the week you may have spent most of your time exploring the new map and the points of interest. One of the most interesting points of interest are the new Meteor craters around the map. The Meteors leave a large hole in the ground with scattered pieces of Meteorite strewn around near the crash site. I have found that these pieces of Meteorite yield the most metal material, so if you see some don't hesitate to prize some for yourself.
The other new feature of the Meteorite craters is the new Hop Rocks. These mysterious crystals emit an out of this world glow and when consumed they seem to turn gravity off and make you hop extra high. There are many advantages to gaining the higher ground in the game. I especially like that you can fire your gun whilst in the air!
There are multiple new locations including Risky Reels. It is modelled off an old drive-in movie theatre. It is near the top right of the map by Wailing Woods. This area used to be a popular spot for me to land but it seems a lot of people like to land here now and it is quickly living up to its' namesake. During the start of the season, I suspect this will be a very popular landing spot so be on guard if you decide to land here.
The areas on the map that we are used to seeing from the previous season have now been revamped with a new movie set theme. Throughout the world, you will now find many Movie sets. I like how this new theme has revitalized places on the map that wasn't so popular to land at. For instance, Moisty Mire was a place people tended to avoid as there was a low loot spawn rate, it was out of the way, and the swamp was just too hard to navigate through. Now there is a giant movie set with large green screens, sets and there are more Loot chests and places to explore. I like it so much I think this will be one of my favourite spots to land!
