In the Sims 4, you get famous by working hard and practicing your craft... just like in real life.

You thought I would reveal some secret trick to reaching star status? I wish I could, but just like real life if you want fame and fortune in the Sims 4, you need to put everything else aside and work your Sim's virtual butt off!

My goal when I started this expansion was to reach the top of the acting career before my Sim reached the age of adult. That was not the case. In fact, my Sim was well into the elder stage before she reached global superstar status, taking much longer than I had anticipated. She did nothing more than go to work and practice acting.

Other than practicing romantic scenes for work, this Sim never dated and never had a first kiss until she was well toward the end of her life. If you want to make a star in Sims 4, be prepared to put in the hours because this will not be easy.

In the Sims 4 Get Famous expansion, you can work the acting job track and become famous. The expansion comes with its own little town, and mansions filled with fancy decorations and furniture.

I found out by giving my Sim a few motherlodes and moving them into one of the mansions, that the Sim will get an embarrassed buff living there if they are not a star.

So back to the slums my Sim went until she earned the right to live on the hill.

If you are creating a new Sim to play as a young adult, you have the option of becoming rich and famous in different ways. You can choose to be internet famous by talking or blogging on the internet, or you can act your way into the spotlight.

I choose to take the acting career by selecting the master actor life goal from the creative aspirations, but you can also choose to selfie or blog your way to fame by route of the popularity aspiration.

Since I did not do the popularity aspiration, this how-to will be focused on the acting career path which you can select by looking for a job on your phone.

Once your Sim goes on the audition and gets the gig, they will go to work. You can choose to send your Sim alone, or you can go to work with them. If you choose to go to work with them you will be transported to the set where you can perform tasks to complete your day of work and receive stars toward your fame and acting status.

Most of the tasks pertain to the performance, such as doing hair and make-up, getting dressed in costume, practicing lines, and telling the director your Sim is ready to act on stage. Once you do, you can then perform the scenes by clicking on the x on the stage and selecting the basic, or advanced options.

If you are not high enough skill to do the advanced options you will get a low performance review. But if you do have the skills needed to perform the advanced options, your Sim could receive a good review and more star status faster than playing it safe on stage.

Once I got used to playing the new expansion, I created Lucy Lovesong, determined she would be a star in no time...

Through hard work and determination, Lucy Lovesong advanced through the actor career by completing task after task. Some of the tasks were to increase skills such as acting, fitness or charisma, but others were more intimate such as acting out a love scene, or practicing flirting.

Lucy Lovesong would practicing her flirting on an unsuspecting coworker and then ask if they could be friends after she completed her task. She did this many times during her career, but the coworker never complained.

Lucy was a rising star and moving on to bigger and better acting roles in no time by reaching level 7 in the acting career track.

Throughout her adult life, Lucy Lovesong practiced her skills, went on auditions, acted in movies and unlocked more and more rewards and traits.

As an elder Lucy Lovesong was able to reach global superstar status and she moved into one of the mansions on the hill.

I had a lot of fun playing the Sims 4 Get Famous expansion.

The tasks were challenging enough to keep me interested, and although I failed a few auditions making the process even longer, I would probably continue this expansion by making a child star, or attempting the popularity aspiration and becoming famous by way of blogging.

I hope you learned a little more about how to play the Sims 4 Get Famous expansion pack. This is an older expansion pack as it took me a long time to get to this post.

Since this expansion, they have also released Strangerville. The Strangerville challenge is taking me longer than expected because I had to redo a few of the tasks.

The new beach pack for the Sims 4 comes out tomorrow and I still need to defeat the plant monster in Strangerville.

I hope to be able to post another how-to once I do. It may be much later though, as I really am looking forward to the beach expansion and may be playing that for a week or two before going back to Strangerville.
