Apparently Spider-Man is now problematic

Imagine this being your takeaway from the new Spider-Man game:

“They ruined Spider-Man by making him help the NYPD” is an actual take that both the writer and editor thought was good. It is like these people who write these garbage have no clue about the character. Spider-Man has been helping the NYPD since the Silver Age of comic books. His very first police ally was Captain George Stacy. Look at Batman, same deal. Have you literally never played a superhero game before? Oh wait:

He is a police-friendly vigilante and has always been almost since his inception. He is basically the “goody too-shoo” of the superhero community. You know things are getting desperate when a sports blog start writing about video games. Granted he has had a history of confrontational run-ins with them in the past but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t also work with them at times. And of course, right on cue, online publications all magically writing about the same thing:

Absolutely no media collusion to push a narrative, right?
