Zelda Breath of the Wild สมควรเป็นเกมของปี 2017

It's been over a year since Zelda Breath of the Wild came out on March 3, 2017, but this game is still worth writing about. If you haven't played it yet or if you were thinking about buying a Nintendo Switch, this game is worth buying the Switch alone. (Mario Kart is badass as well.) You could also buy a Wii U cheaply these days. I've seen a friend emulate Wii U on his PC just to play Breath of the Wild.

Nostalgic and Unique

Breath of the wild is unlike any game before it, but it also merges a lot of aspects of the previous Zelda games beautifully well. Very few games keep me interested longer than a month and only Breath of the Wild has kept me entertained for over a year.

Shield Surfing

This is definitely the funnest part of the game in my opinion. If you're on the top of a hill, you can use your shield to slide down like it's a snowboard. Link can also use this to attack enemies which are downhill. Doing this damages your shields though.

Gliding

I felt gliding was the funnest part of the Batman games and Breath of the Wild does it just as well. Jumping or falling off cliffs was suicide in older Zelda games, but now it's a fun way to get around.

Master Sword

Just like in the original NES or Famicom Legend of Zelda from the 80's, Link can shoot the Master Sword if all hearts are full. I sadly didn't realize this was possible until the end of the game.

Bombs

Unlike in previous Zelda games, bombs are unlimited. There are round bombs which are great for rolling down hills to blast enemies and square shaped bombs that won't roll staying in place until you remotely detonate them. Using bombs is a great way to kill enemies while keeping your distance and preserving arrows.

Horses

Not only can you ride different types of horses, but if you dare, Link can ride other animals like bears. If you equip your horse with the Ancient Horse Gear it will materialize on demand when you whistle for it.

Open World

Just like in GTA, you can go anywhere you want. You can also choose to do the missions in any order that you wish. You can go straight to Hyrule Castle immediately after starting the game, but you'll surely die if Link isn't strong enough.

Bow and Arrows

Shooting arrows is done using the gyroscopes in the controller making it the best arrow shooting experience in any RPG. There are many types of arrows Link can shoot. There are common arrows, fire arrows, ice arrows, shock arrows, bomb arrows, and even ancient arrows which can destroy powerful enemies with one shot.

Shrines

There are 120 shrines in the game. After completing four shrines you can use that power to gain a heart container or green stamina power. This is similar to older versions of Zelda games where you would go into castles but most shrines are puzzles and only a few have a boss.

Mountain Climbing

Breath of the Wild feels like playing Assassins Creed sometimes due to the natural climbing Link can do. When gaining more power from shrines I felt it was best to power up stamina before heart containers so Link could climb better.

Atlantis

Just like in our world, there was an ancient civilization which was more advanced than the current civilization and the technology, weapons, robots, and some buildings can be found while exploring the beautiful world of Hyrule.
