E3 2018 has seen some incredible game announcements, but Sony hit it home with there list of Games!

Sony has gained a lot of hype surrounding several of the exclusives in recent months, and now at there conference at e3 2018, we have seen some titles that were expected, others that were just rumoured and others we knew little about. But all together, they were beyond impressive, despite the clunkiness of the show they put on in the very cramped room, and what the fuck was that banjo performance all about?. But the gamers got what they wanted regardless.

So here are 5 of the best game announcements from Sony at E3 2018.

5 – Spiderman.

  • We have already seen a Spiderman trailer release that was a mish mash of cutscenes blended with action. But it wasn't clear if that was the in game footage. The trailer that was shown revealed a lot more that left gamers wanting more.
The trailer looked as though it was a level in the game. The cut scene leading into it was action filled then we got to see some actual in game footage of how Spiderman could deal with the Prison Break situation..... and it was amazing. The flow of the animations during combat was smother than my chest, dealing with multiple targets at once and going from one to the other effortlessly with more combo's than Teken, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat combined. The graphics are OK, there is nothing real special about them, but the animations is where this game shines.
The UI is fairly simple, limited to just a health/combo bar on the top left and web shooter/type of shooter on the right.
We get to see several of the villains that will appear in the game, including, Shocker, Rhino and Scorpion. The voice acting and timing is also second to non. It is shaping up to be an awesome game for us to enjoy.

4 – Ghost of Tsushima.

  • When the first trailer for this game dropped some time ago, we all wondered if the visuals seen would appear in the game or if it was rendered just for a trailer, as some other games have done in the past. But we were all surprised to see the same visuals, if anything, improved visuals during gameplay..... the graphics are fucking awesome. Everything about the visuals make this game one of the best looking, if not the best looking in recent history.
Everything from the long grass blowing in the wind fluidly, the clothes on the characters moving in a similar way, grass getting trampled and moving out of the way as you walk through or ride through them, and even leaves breaking of trees as strong wind blows through them. The environment is just breathtaking.
The combat is also well presented and smooth, that has that typical Japanese flair we all love to see.
It will be interesting to see the final game and if what we see in the trailers will match. But going of what the Devs from SuckerPunch have done so far, I have a strong feeling it will be just as good, if not better.

3 – Resident Evil 2 - Remake.

  • This game has been long rumoured to be in development, but no one was sure if it was. Well Sony proved everyone right and the remake is well under way.
The reveal trailer starts out in a similar fashion to the original with one officer trying to make an arrest but getting eaten by a zombie for his trouble, with Lean saving the day by putting a bullet through its head. But it had that modern touch that made it seem all the more real.
This is another game trailer that is visually stunning from start to finish. The facial animations are spot on, and I suspect that a lot of facial/action capture was used in the creation of this remake. It looks as though that just like the original, it will be centred around the Raccoon City Police Department building, with all the familiar locations inside included. The Licker's are back and although we don't see too much of them, they look fucking awesome, with one impaling someone during the trailer with there tongue.
The devs have recaptured the atmosphere of the original too, but with more focus on the decayed side of the city... and the Zombies.... remember the first time you seen that zombie in the cut scene in the 1st game? Well times that by 1000. they look epic, and I can not wait until January to get my hands on a copy. Think I need to play resident evil one remake now.

2 – The Last of Us Part 2.

  • Ever since the success of the first game, there was no doubt in anyone's mind that there will be a sequel. And Sony gave the fans exactly what they wanted.
The game looks amazing and the trailer gave us a very vivid contrast between the quiet and very intimate moments, and then into full blown deadly action. This just adds a reminder to all of us that in a post apocalyptic world, anything can happen at any time without notice. And that is exactly what we got in the first game.
The cinematography used in this game looks like some of the best you may ever see in a game, going from being in the middle of the action to over shoulder, zooming in at the appropriate moments, and then turning back to the protagonist. The facial and action capture is also something about this game to admire, and the acting that goes with it is very well done. Oh, and did I mention this was all in game play? Yup. All this was going on while someone was actually playing the game which is a testament to how good the Naughty Dog's Development team is.
Unfortunately there was no release date given, so it could be as far out as late 2019 / early 2020 before we get to see the final product. But at the same time, it could roll out next month..... we just don't know.

1 – Death Stranding!

  • Hideo Kojima is a master at his craft, and he has crafted something truly amazing for us all to enjoy. He is also a master of generating hype by only giving us a taste of what to expect with no clues given about the possible narrative. That was until now.
Now we get to see more of Norman Reedus' character in not only cut scenes, but also in some actual gameplay which is something that fans of Hideo's work have desperately wanted for a long time now. Visually, the characters could be mistaken for the real actors. As there is a lot of Facial and body capture used to create such good animations and the graphics are something that could be called next to perfection.
At the start of the trailer, we see Norman Reedus' character doing a lot of walking around, possibly either scavenging or delivering. Some times we see just small cases on his back and on a little hovering platform that trails behind him, one occasion we see a body bag on his back that looked to be occupied.... by who, we are yet to find out.
We then see a scene in which Norman is trapped in a building, he plugs in a blacked out flask type object, which reveals a baby inside. This activates a contraption/radar type object on his back as he steps out, trying to avoid figures that seem to be floating near by.
During the entire trailer we get to see small portions of a new character that interacts with Reedus' who is played by French Actress, Lea Seydoux who is best known for playing Madeleine in James Bond Spectre. When we get to the end of the trailer we also get to see another new character played by actress Lindsey Wagner, who is best known for more than a few Sci-fi TV shows, including, Alphas, Warehouse 13, the bionic woman and the six million dollar man. We don't get to see Mads Mikkelsen's character in this lengthy 9+ minute long trailer, but I suspect that there will be another trailer that will be released soon enough featuring him.
The world that Hideo has created is something truly special and something to admire. You can tell that there are some subtle hints of Metal Gear in this game, most notably the environment and the limited / singular lines from Reedus, but at the same time, it is very unique.
I can not say enough good things about this game, and there are already plenty of ideas, rumours floating about. So here is the trailer in its entirety...... Enjoy!

Unlike the Xbox conference on Sunday, which was very extravagant and featured 50 announcements, premiers and exclusives, the Sony one was a much smaller affair and featured a lot less announcements, but then again, Sony had nothing to prove to the fans as they have had massive success in previous years, where as Microsoft, had a lot of catching up to do.
While yes the game trailers were very exciting. That was the only part that was as in between, there were fucking idiots playing instruments as a performance with the only connection being there is the same music in the accompanying game. ''We are there to see the games arseholes, not a music performance''. And then they talked about the game they seen with several nobody of interest to us gamers. It was rather clunky and almost embarrassing to watch. Thankfully though, the games that were shown where mind bending to say the least.

What game from this list are you most looking forward to playing?
