RE: Game Bites | Clockwork Knight (Sega Saturn)

in #gaming6 years ago

Just imagine if Sega had launched the Saturn with a Sonic game using this engine. While they did learn from their mistakes in this regard with the Sega Dreamcast, it was too late to turn the ship around.

I love a lot of the Saturn original exclusives - so many weren't even ported to PC for some reason. That is a big reason they sell for an arm and a leg - there is only one way to enjoy them, the originals.

It's so true. I mean one of the biggest franchises on the system, Panzer Dragoon, has never seen releases outside of the Saturn. Short of Orta on the original Xbox. Which is really too bad.

But now that I have a Saturn of my own I'm thinking that might have to be the next game I pick up for it! If only Saga wasn't so rediculously rare and expensive though!

Well, if you fancy playing the first Panzer Dragoon on something other than Sega Saturn then you can get the PC version. Admittedly though, that is probably the cheapest game in the franchise to acquire on Saturn.

Saga is the expensive one.

A lot of Sega's early Saturn games were ported to PC - though, oddly, Clockwork Knight and Astal are not among them (though Virtua Fighter, Bug!, and Daytona made the jump among others).

The Saturn holds a special place in my heart, I truly wanted it to take off and be a hit and bring those trademark Sega arcade games home. Sadly, it was too late for that to happen - they needed the Saturn on market when 3DO hit to have had a chance in this regard (though we all know that would have been cost prohibitive).
