What If We Made A Beat'Em Up Blockchain MMO

in #gaming6 years ago (edited)

That sounds like a lot of random words to non-gamers but this would be a great idea. Beat 'em ups are a lot of fun but they get repetitive quickly. But some of them add rpg elements to add more depth to them such a leveling up and items. But what if we took this one step further. I do not know if this has been done before but what if we go the raid approach of an mmo and have dungeons you can redo with rare drops. That way you can replay it as you would an mmo but with a different style of game.

Now of course we would put this on the blockchain so you could trade and sell your items. When you do a raid you get a certain amount of drops and you are free to do what you want with them. All items could be in-game and the players would trade them after. You could also have different character classes as well and items specific to each. Plus gold.

We could take a lot from the mmo world but keep it 2d and side-scrolling. I think it would be a hit.

Who is with me, steem of rage?

Smash a rental for Steem? I'm in.

I think it's an incredible initiative, I love your contributions to the community so good ideas!

There are a lot of things that can be done using the blockchain, and I think this is a neat idea although I would like it to be 3D since you can interact and have a multiplayer game easier, I like the idea of the real-life selling of these virtual assets.

Maybe the creator gets a little % on the selling of things to keep the servers running.

Thanks for posting your ideas with us.

That sounds like a good idea! A lot of platforms like Steam (which has a surprisingly similar name to Steem) already have their own currencies and markets and items, so the idea you're suggesting here seems only a step away. All we need is someone to invest the time and resources.

Thanks for sharing your idea!
