Hey everyone! Bill from Byyfor Gaming here. When I saw gameplay of Sally Face I was instantly hooked. With its unique art style, great soundtrack, and dark story I knew that this game would quickly become one of my favorites. In today’s world, online play and competition seem to be the most popular methods of gaming. While I love games like Hearthstone, Overwatch, and Pubg I find the lack of emphasis on great storytelling in today’s games disturbing. Sally Face is a pleasant breath of fresh air that reminds me that great storytelling is still being done in video games.
In this episodically released game, you play as a teenager named Sal Fisher known throughout the game as Sally Face. He is called this due to the prosthetic mask he wears to cover up his disfigured face. Screenshot (12).png

The first episode titled “Strange Neighbors” begins with Sal explaining a recurring nightmare to his therapist. The therapist then inquires about Sal’s childhood, in which he explains that after the death of his mother he and his dad move into Addison Apartments where strange events have started taking place. Sal discovers that along with a murder that happened in the apartment next to his, paranormal events plague the building that he now calls home.

With the help of his new friend, Larry, they explore the building in an attempt to find evidence to help catch the murderer. After Sal presents his findings to the police, a man is taken into custody. Sal goes outside to see the alleged murderer in the back of the police car. He then peeks into the back of the coroner’s van and sees the body of the murdered woman.

With the flashback over, he is back in the therapist’s office. It is then revealed to you that Sally Face is on trial for murder.
This episode, while short, was enjoyable. The characters and environment around you do a great job of immersing you into the game. The dark/cartoonish artwork goes well with the game, it adds a notch to the already creepy atmosphere. Getting to meet all the neighbors in the building was also very enjoyable, the strangeness of them contributes to the dark nature of the story. The narrative itself is very compelling. The fact that the entire episode takes place in one building but is still able to keep you interested is an amazing feat. What is even more impressive is that the design, art, and music are all done by Steve Gabry. It is apparent that he put his best efforts into this game.

The first episode is only $2.99. You can buy episodes 2-5 here for only $11.99. Episodes 4 and 5 have yet to be released. Purchasing the bundle will pre order them.
