Apex Legends Passes 10 Million Players

in #gamnig5 years ago (edited)

The battle for battle royal games continues with a new competitor Apex Legends. I have yet to play it myself but would like to try it out. If you have please let me know what you think of it in the comments.

It looks like battle royal games are still the top of the list when it comes to gaming and it is interesting to see how long this trend will last. What is even more interesting is these games are free to play and are doing incredibly well financially. So well that Apex legends has helped get EA's stock back up after a bad stretch with Battlefield.

This also means that companies are learning that people do not like the pay-to-win model and are actually listening. This is the point I had with crypto in an earlier post, if you want a site or company to implement crypto then let them know that crypto is what you want. People could not ignore fortnite or the loss that companies were seeing with pay-to-win and they changes their model.

Know how to we get 10 million people on steemit :p

This genre and revenue model is also a clear indicator of how much people will pay and invest into entertainment for items and experiences that are ancillary or cosmetic. Steem projects need to revisit that idea of gamification, badges, premium layouts & features, etc.

I've been playing a little... it's a pretty cool game. Had a lot of improvements over other battle royale games, but I'm still partial to PUBG.

Nice I want to try it.
