Wow. It's been over 20 days since last Garden Update. + Prickly Pear Cactus Bloom!
It is amazing how time flies! It doesn't seem like it's been almost a month since the last garden update, but it has! Many of the plants are starting to get their blooms for the food they will produce! The cactus is not in the garden but it is flowering too!
The Prickly Pear Cactus has bloomed again! This is the second year in a row it has bloomed!
There are two more blooms forming
The Zucchini plants are huge! They are really loving the clay soil.
A Zucchini flower. We should have zucchini for the table very soon.
These are some of the cucumber plants. The trellis has to be put properly in place so the cucumbers can grow up it. We still have a little more time to properly set it up.

The baby watermelon plant... I forgot to take pictures of the blooms on the plant. The red arrow is a plant that appeared. We are thinking it is a banana pepper plant. We are debating whether we should try to replant it or just let it continue growing.
The corn stalks are easily three feet tall. The corn is also starting to form on the stalks.
It shouldn't be long until we have food from the garden. I didn't include any pictures of the tomato plants. I took a few but once I got inside to the computer they were not very good pictures so I just left them out. I will try to make it a priority to include pics of them next time a garden update is posted.

Thank you @trendygran! They do all seem to be doing very well. We did lose some onions...but we think it may have already been too hot for them when they were put out.

Looking good! My first summer squash is just about to flower too and I am anxious to get my pick it. They are SOOOO tasty when thy are young and tender.
Yes, they will be so good! The wifey hasn't specified..but I know there is fried squash and zucchini bread in my future!

Yo ! Everytime I make these posts I think of u. You were the first garden I ever read. Are u back? Need to check ur channel. I read ur health was acting up again!
Yup, am back and trying to get the garden growing again. So cool that you remember that! Am on track recovering from a 2nd stroke (end of March) and a nasty reaction to a blood pressure med. Now back to work full time, doing some speech & occupational therapy twice a week in between and using the posts here to rebuild flexibility of my hands/fingers. Thankfully, it's coming back pretty quickly.
You're in my thoughts frequently, too. I hope everything is smoothing out for you after the rough patch you went though.

Life is positive and a struggle atm. Its a weird place. As you can see...my own personal garden is keeping me going through.
When i dont have the motivation to work on it...I think...what would Deb do.
It's you folks here that keep me motivated. Y'all are always up to something new and interesting - like your cactus blossoms (which I've never been able to manage), @hethur240's wire wrapped stones, and @amberyooper's backyard railroad. I've never thought of myself as a fighter. Just stubborn and not satisfied with unacceptable circumstances. (I am a Taurus, after all...lol!)

I know we both have a very deep connection to the Steemit community that helps us as people. I have made some true friends on Steemit and I know you have too.
