yes! i hear ya. we grew ours in not-a-perfect spot for it and it did okay considering. i read that it likes sandy soil- grows a lot of tubers per plant that way. i think i'll put it in a greywater run off this next year and see how it does with even more water. it can take some drought.
Hmmmmm, I wonder if it would grow here then... Might be worth a try...
