JERUSALEM ARTICHOKE RAISED BED
Plant more = grow more!
After reaping an incredible harvest of Sunchokes, we decided that we needed to expand our growing areas for this amazing plant. We had already replanted the bed that we harvested them from, so we decided to build a new bed to plant.
While we could have just planted them in the earth, the "soil" around here is mostly rock and clay, which would make harvesting them next year a task. By building a new raised bed, we'll not only have a contained section to grow them in, but the ease of digging out the mature bulbs next year will be increased.
With the help of a few of my children, we took this project by the horns and got the job done. That way, they too have played an important role in the production of our food supply, which makes them appreciate it a lot more when the food winds up on the plate at dinner time. Enjoy the video.

Yay! More artichokes! Keep up the good work!
We will! Thanks!
We have some of those growing in our backyard. I don't think we maintain them anymore, they just grow. :)
Hidden food supply if you ever need them!
