Funny, I always had a concept that to be a homesteader you had to consciously go out there and buy some land with the intent of setting up the "Homestead" with the producing of your own food, etc.
I never intentionally set out to set up a homestead (so never felt comfortable calling myself a homesteader) but that is exactly what I did. H-m-m! I guess i am a homesteader!
