Rice that has begun to bear fruit must be kept extra tight from pests. On land must be guarded from a flock of mice, and in the air guarded from a flock of seed-eating birds. From morning to evening, rice farmers will continue to monitor their rice fields. Various methods were carried out such as installing scarecrows (human sculptures from grass placed in the middle of the rice fields) or installing ropes that crossed the top of the rice fields along with the tufts.
